Quality Locum Solutions are currently working with a Private Healthcare Organisation based in the Surrey area of Farnham / Guildford Surrey. The role we are seeking to fill is for Children's /Paediatric Occupational Therapist with community experience. Ideally, we are seeking a therapist with experience of working with children, young people and families with or without disabilities. The successful candidate will be required to work alongside a supportive team of experienced therapists and assistants in providing a high-quality occupation-based provision to children aged 0-19 years, who have a variety of conditions, including Cerebral Palsy, Autistic Spectrum Disorders and learning difficulties. You will work within community settings including nurseries and schools, seeing children within their occupational environment.  You will carry out assessment, equipment recommendation, advice and training, group and workshop facilitation and individual therapy. Our client is a proactive service responsive to best practice evidence, they deliver services targeted at the whole population supporting early year's settings, schools and parents to meet a range of needs.
·Provide therapy with children with complex communication, motor, and sensory needs within a school setting.  
·Complete assessments and produce reports to contribute to annual review and Educational Health and Care Plan meetings.  
·Ensure the service is provided in close collaboration with education staff and other professionals to meet the needs of the child or young person.
·Assessing and diagnosing a wide range of motor, perceptual, sensory and functional difficulties.
·Planning appropriate therapy interventions, making fine judgements about type and timing of treatment negotiated with education staff and parents.  
·Delivering group and individual therapy as required.  
·Providing advice, training and therapy programmes to education staff, parents and other health professionals.  
·Managing parental and/or school anxieties regarding intervention and prognosis.  
·Evaluating treatment outcomes. Transferring and discharging.
·Well-developed oral and verbal communication skills in order to develop a therapeutic relationship with your patients
·Interpersonal skills to connect with others and develop rapport with your patients
·Compassion and empathy
·The ability to explain, encourage and build confidence
·Observation skills
·Decision-making skills and the ability to organise and plan your workload
·Assessment and report writing skills
·Problem-solving skills
