Theatre Recovery Nurse
QLS are currently supporting an NHS hospital based in East London who are seeking a locum experienced Theatre Recovery Nurse trained in the ability to monitor critically unwell patients when they are still under the effects of anaesthesia. We are seeking a nurse who has an understanding of cardiac monitoring equipment, intravenous therapy for fluids, pain medication and has strong observation skills. Is this you? ·An ability to provide patient observation, an essential role of the recovery room nurse.
·An ability to take the patient's vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse and temperature.
·To ensure that the patient is breathing properly and administer oxygen when needed.
·React rapidly to signs of any negative physical changes.
·Observation of patients to assess their comfort level.
·Administration of pain medications that have been prescribed.
·The nurse must be able to use patient-controlled pumps, and intravenous and epidural infusions.
·An ability to complete notes and communicate information in verbal or written form to other nurses and to physicians.
·Be a registered adult nurse with ideally 1 or more years' experience.
·Ability to offer 2 to 3 shifts per week.
·Registered with the NMC.
·Have experience working in recovery.
·Good communication skills and work well in a team
