Band 3 Healthcare Assistant
 
 
THE BACKGROUND:
Quality Locum Solutions are proud to have partnered with a leading NHS Trust based in West Sussex. We currently have an available opportunity for Community Band 3 Healthcare Assistants with good experience, skills and knowledge to support patients in their own homes. We are seeking Band 3 healthcare staff who have experience of working in Hospitals or Care Homes, or community rehabilitation services. You must be a car driver / owner We are paying a favourable hourly rate for those who can cover 8am - 6pm any days from Monday to Friday. These bookings are ongoing for the next 4 months. THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
 
·Assisting with helping patients to wash, shower or dress
·Capable of administering eye drops, and basic wound care
·Turning patients who are bed-bound to avoid pressure sores
·Talking and conversing with patients to help them feel less anxious
·Supporting patients to move around if they find it difficult
·Giving out and collecting bedpans, and helping patients to the bathroom
·Taking and recording patient observations such as temperature, pulse and breathing.
·Reporting variances in a patient's condition immediately to a relevant professional.
·Ensuring Patient's physical environment is maintained e.g. Warmth, cleanliness.
·Prompting medication, catheter care, temperature taking, blood sugar monitoring, stoma care.
 
 
EDUCATION:
 
·Ideally NVQ 3 in Social Care Not essential  
 
 
THE REQUIREMENTS:
    
·Experience in working as a Healthcare Assistant ideally 1year +
·Current DBS Cert on the update service
·Car Driver - Ideal not essential
·Applicants must hold a copy of their immunisations
·Ability to cover shift patterns
·Ideally have worked within hospital / Nursing home environment
·Good communication skills and work well in a team
·Good written skills
·Ability to report observations, Identify risks
