QualityLS are looking to support Lewisham NHS Trust with its requirement for Band 5 Locum Staff Nurse to support on the wards.
There are a range of shift patterns available covering early, afternoon, late shift, long days and nights.
You must be a registered nurse with experience working on a hospital ward and have an NMC pin for this position. The ideal candidate will have worked reporting on Datix and be competent in basic wound management and other ward-based duties.
We are currently receiving over 20 shifts a day and can accommodate working hours and shift patterns to suit you whether this is full time or around your current job.
The rates are set by this NHS trust and cannot be negotiated but we can support with your registration with QualityLS ensuring you are compliant and available to receive these shifts within a week.

Rates for this position
As the shift patterns vary your rates will be set in line with social and unsocial working hours.
Standard Day hours 7:30am - 7.30pm paying £21.00 per hour
Night hours 8pm - 8am or working Saturday paying £25.00 per hour
Sunday or Bank Holiday hours paying £27.00 per hour
Job Description
·Carries out a full range of registered nurse duties, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patient's condition and care with support from the nurse in charge.
·Maintain the privacy and dignity of all patients whilst adhering to Trust and department policies, reporting any difficulties with these duties to senior staff.
·Working without direct supervision once key learning outcomes of the induction/ foundation or preceptorship programme have been completed.
·Maintains a safe environment when caring for patients, including those patients requiring frequent levels of monitoring.
·Monitors all patient care and treatment, maintaining high standards and quality at all times.
·Documents incidents on Datix in real time and escalated these to nurse in charge and is area of trust risk management and how to raise concerns policies.
·Is able to prioritise nursing care, recognise deterioration in a patient's condition and alert senior staff immediately.
·Maintains accurate, contemporaneous and legible written records of care.
·Uses effective communication, written and verbal with all levels of staff including the multidisciplinary team, patients and relatives.
·Adheres to the agreed procedures as identified, and promotes by example, a high standard of good quality nursing care in the department.
·Participates in the health education and explanation of treatment to patients and relatives.
